Matt Mazzaccaro - 2006

Matt had to overcome alot of adversity his senior year just to attend school. As the season began, Matt and his family lost their home to a fire. The traumatic event caused Matt to miss some practices, deal with adverse living conditions, and slowly replace possessions of need. Despite the setback, Matt pushed forward and captained one of the greatest teams in Platt history. The team went 25-7 on the season, mostly because Matt played a valuable role in the effort. Matt was bumped up a weight class in 26 of the dual meets and was asked to take on some of the states top ranked competitors. After posting a 37-8 record Matt closed the season with a third place finish in the class “L” state championships and a CCC South All conference selection.
